The Dobwalls Beer Festival is a real ale and cider festival.  We are proud to be promoting Cornish small brewers whilst raising money for the Cornwall Air Ambulance.  The 1st festival was held back in August 2009 and has been growing and moving forward from strength to strength.  2019 will be our 10th year and we think it will be our best yet.  This year the Beer Festival will take place on Friday 19th July and Saturday 20th July from 12pm noon.  There will be some amazing entertainment both days and a fine selection of Cornish Beers and Ciders.
Food will be available to purchase on both days with the Highwayman pub serving their normal menu of foodstuffs and Specials over the 2 days and on the Saturday we will have the trusty BBQ smoking up some fine Cornish meats in the background.
Obviously, being July, the event will be bathed in Warm Sunshine.  Although we can't actually guarantee this and in the worst case scenario we have a shower, then we do have a vast marquee available to keep us dry. What other better way is there to spend an afternoon / evening than relaxing  with an nice Beer or Cider listening to some entertainment?  The Dobwalls Beer Festival is Family Friendly with a beer garden and play ground available for the little ones to enjoy.
For our 10th Anniversary, this year we will be selling LIMITED EDITION Dobwalls Beer Festival T-Shirts.  They are available in Black in all sizes from Small (S) to XXL.  However, they really are limited so are available to buy here or at the Pub before the Festival and then (if there are any left) on the Beer Festival Weekend.  They are £15.00 each and all profits go to Cornwall Air Ambulance.

Cornwall Air Ambulance

Cornwall Air Ambulance

To support and fundraise to keep Cornwall Air Ambulance flying, so that it can continue to provide an emergency helicopter service to anyone in Cornwall, free at the point of need, and continue to save lives.  Dobwalls Beer Festival has been doing this for the 10 years it has been running.  In this time we have raised thousands of pounds for this wonderful charity.  Of course, this is only possible with your help!  There are two ways you can assist us and Cornwall Air Ambulance and that is to Sponsor the event or to come along and support the event by partaking in a few ales or ciders.

Dobwalls Beer Festival and Cornwall Air Ambulance thank you for your support!

Little Waves
5pm - 7pm
Little Waves are an exciting acoustic duo with a collated set of songs from the decades. Ben and Mark have both been in international touring bands and have had the pleasure of sharing some of the worlds most prestigious stages with Artists such as Alice Cooper, Motley Crüe, Kiss, Protest the Hero, Don Broco and Lower than Atlantis to name but a few.

Now in this more laid back format, they bring a rootsy vibe to an eclectic collection of songs from the 50’s right up until 2019. Available for Weddings, Corporate events and private hire, they are happy to travel anywhere and hope to send little waves through the country and beyond...
Dark Station
7pm - 9pm
Dark Station is a 3 (or sometimes 2) piece band made up of old school chums Graham and Tamsyn, and ex-Londer Kevin.

Following a chance meeting after not seeing each for 30 years, Graham and Tamsyn discovered a mutual love of cider, swearing and acoustic quirky jazz/punk. Forming a band seemed like a good idea at the time.

Kev saw them performing as a duo and decided it was a party he wanted to crash. From that moment on it’s been a series of congas, sandals, checked shirts, cow bell solos and general good times all the way.

Charlie Louise
4pm - 6pm
Charlie Louise is a singer/songwriter from Menheniot, combining acoustic pop vibes with country vocals to create a unique sound. She has supported the likes of Wildwood Kin and Haunt The Woods at Plymouth Pavilions, and also recorded her debut demo EP “I’m Not like You” at Abbey Road Studios last November, donating some of the CD proceeds to Livewire Youth Music Project. Having only been performing for the past couple of years, Charlie has quickly become an established solo artist on the Southwest Circuit. Charlie played over 50 gigs over the course of last year including multiple festivals, such as Boardmasters, Looe Saves The Day and BBC Introducing stages at the Biggest Weekend Fringe event at Exeter Phoenix. Charlie absolutely loves the playing and supporting the local beer festivals, for charity and we are proud to have her back at Dobwalls Beer Festival again this year, having played here last year as well as the Darite Beer Festival and Sterts Beer Festival too!

Their mixture of classic and modern rock covers from bands like Cream, The Kinks, Primal Scream, Snow Patrol, Kings of Leon and many more.

Ales & Ciders

Last year we had a grand selection of 10 ales and 6 ciders from around the historic county of Cornwall.  We have received some great feedback with regards to the selection that was on offer and we will take those comments into account when organising the ales and ciders for the 2019 ten year special Beer Festival.  This year we have extended our range to 12 Beers and 6 Ciders.  The Tasting Notes are now available.  Click here to see them
